The focus on excellence-in-practice has seen TEKmation (PTY) LTD being contracted to conduct training in other African countries.
Zambia
Training of artisans for the Zambian National Brewery (SAB Miller) in Lusaka. Developed training modular equipment and conducted on-site training.
Artisans were trained from Basic, Intermediate to Advance in PLC, SCADA, DCS & Troubleshooting.
Mozambique
TEKmation (PTY) LTD Training Institute was contracted by the Rio Tinto Mining Group to set-up a vocational education and training centre in Mozambique.
The project brief was to design & equip the training centre for the following trades & skills
and to train artisans in the following trades and skills:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Welding & Boiler-making, Instrumentation, Safety Management, Assessors Training, Train the Trainer, Facilitation Skills Training
PROJECTS DEPARTMENT
TEKmation, being innovative has created a projects team that is responsible for design, development and manufacture of customised training solutions for the public and private sector. The team consists of skilled technicians, artisans and engineers that will collaborate with clients from the project initiation to closure stage. Some of the projects included:
Rio Tinto Coal Mining – Mocambique:
The project brief from the client was for TEKmation to retrofit a training centre to cater for the training of artisans in the Mechanical, Electrical, instrumentation, Welding and Boilermaking trade. TEKmation was also tasked to train in those trades. Customised training equipment modules and workshop fitments was designed, manufactured and installed by TEKmation Training Institute. The training was conducted using South African training standards by skilled and qualified artisans who have many years of industrial experience and facilitation skills.
Umfolozi FET College
TEKmation (PTY) LTD Training Institute has been contracted by Umfolozi FET College to manufacture, supply and fit a new instrumentation training department. All simulation and training modules are being manufactured by TEKmation (PTY) LTD Training Institute.
Merrivale Vocational College
A new Vocational Training Centre is being negotiated to be built in Pietermaritzburg – Howick. TEKmation (PTY) LTD was awarded the contract to partner with industry to build and retrofit the new training centre. This will be a fully fitted Vocational School for the trades.
Corporate and Industry
Apart from Apprenticeship and Learnerships training, skills training is also conducted for corporates and industry in the areas of: Safety Management, Process Control, Electrical Safety, Behavioural Safety, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Instrumentation process Control for Artisan and for non-technical staff (Sales & Marketing) etc. Skills programmes are designed according to clients training needs. TEKmation (Pty) Ltd will collaborate with clients to design customized training according to clients training needs
